We require a team of 10 mailroom sorters to supply and support the vote processing team during the 2025 local authority elections. Receiving postal votes from NZ Post at around 6.00am every morning, this requires early starters willing to start and finish the days early.
MAILROOM SORTERS
What are we looking for?
Tasks will include:
- Transporting mail trays from transport to dock to the processing centre floor
- Sorting the mail into council allocated lots
- Using some machinery for counting and envelope slitting
- Some manual sorting will be required
- May be required to batch some voting documents
- May be asked to assist other teams on site with other processing roles

What do you need from me?
You will need to be fully available from 24th September to 17th October 2025 and able to get to a central Auckland location for 8am weekdays plus Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th October.
The skills and attributes we are looking for include:
- Flexible, process driven, and able to work efficiently
- Ability to follow instructions and be aware of time (the early start is a vital element to a successful day)
- Strong counting accuracy and number recognition
- Reasonable fitness due to some lifting of mail trays and being on feet most of the day
- Methodical approach with a level of pride in doing a good job (training will be provided)
